  • ADDENDUM AD RELIQUIAS FAMILIAE CESAREAE

@ NARONA ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM, Ana Gizdic, solo exhibition

      15th November - 22nd November 2015

This concept strongly relies on the cultural inheritance of the Neretva Delta. The exhibition is composed of the human body parts - feet, legs, arms, hands, thighs...- made of clay. The dimensions of sculptures are respecting the size of the Caesarian family exhibited at Narona Archaeological Museum. These dismembered sculpture parts are arranged orderly on the pedestals around the Caesarian family in Augusteum. The originality of such art presentation is minimal intervention in the cultural heritage while presented at the archaeological site of the null-category. Why? The conditions of the monument's exposure - weather, time-lapse, human factors, etc - dictate the duration of this art concept.

This concept was previously presented at the Diocletian's Substructures at RITUS CELEBRANDI where the atmospheric conditions and human factors were remarkably different from those at the Archaeological Museum. In the space of the Museum the disintegration of the sculptures was notably slower. (intro by Ana Gizdic)
