The conception of DIVINE HERITAGE started at the Neretva Delta. On previous exhibitions read more following these links:

Larpourlartism - Impression and Larpourlartism - DIVINE HERITAGE

The DIVINE HERITAGE was transferred from the Natural History Museum to the informal space of A most unusual garden in Zagreb and was exhibited on September 17th - 30th, 2016. The new space evoked the Alice in wonderland, so new artists and the new sculptures joined the exhibition. A most unusual garden is not just by case the partner of POWERPROGRESSIVEART. Its owner and the creator, Mario Pitesa is one of the founders of POWERPROGRESSIVEART who has made a constant exhibiting place designed as a utopian space of enjoyment and relaxation in a green fairy oasis in the center of the town. The thing that really confirms it as utopic is the possibility to jump into the rabbit hole whenever you wish to.

In the following texts, you may read the artists' stories on the artworks and find more info on their artworks in the Gallery (below). These artworks weren't displayed on previous exhibitions of Powerweb - Delta. Artists' stories on other artworks you may find on links of two previous exhibitions. (intro by Ana Gizdic and Mario Pitesa)

  • Signs of time (Medal of art to prof. Hrvoje Ljubic), (2012) by Paola Banic

This medal is just one part of the art concept Signs of time. Medal presents prof Ljubic’s fingers holding metal carving tool punca (while carving a metal art piece). He, amongst other people, played an important role not only in my life but also in the lives of the community on a larger scale contributing to the art and culture. I wanted to pay my respect to him and some other people by making them a part of my work.

  • Divine  Dragonflies (2016) by Ana Gizdic & Maja Stajduhar

These numerous and tender pieces of art were made as a contribution to another exhibiting space of POWERPROGRESSIVEART's exposee.

At the Smithsonian's it is said that the dragonflies are expert fliers. They can fly straight up and down, hover like a helicopter and even mate mid-air. If they can’t fly, they’ll starve for they catch and eat prey only while flying. The flight of the dragonfly is so special it has inspired engineers of making drones and robots whose flight resembles that of the dragonflies. The most important thing in the Delta story is that loss of wetland habitat threatens dragonfly populations around the world (and they are great control on the mosquito, other insects also some animal population).

Well, yes, there is always a symbolic note... Although they are predators and eat almost anything, fish even, eastern cultures consider them the symbols of courage, strength, and happiness.

  • Jackalope (2014) by Alana Kajfez

With my rabbits, I coquette with the western American culture, by making sculptures of a well-known myth (Rabbit with horns) - the Jackalope. The Jackalope story was devised by Douglas brothers from the USA who worked as rabbit hunters selling them to local stores and hotels in the 1930s. Although there are people who have allegedly seen the Jackalope, scientists say that they were most likely to have been rabbits infected by Shope papillomavirus that causes large tumors on rabbit’s heads which might look like horns. I deliberately make the white elegant rabbit as a statement to nowadays technology that afforded mankind new ways and tools for poaching. I‘m creating mostly mythological and endangered animals with horns as a statement on human cruelty and barbarism.

  • At the Gates  (2014) by Livia Maricic

We are witnessing a torrential evolution movement. Projectors that show sunrise are set in some more developed cities to indicate the beginning of the day to the people. Nature seems to be vanishing. We are becoming an android. A growing interest in ecology and mysticism, rediscovering holistic approaches to health and healing is the manifestation of one evolutionary course - it contradicts the emphasizing of the rational male values and aspects and tries to restore the balance between female and male aspects of human nature. A beam of light represents - enlightenment.
